Tourism sector sources said that the tourism industry is optimistic about an increase of visitors during the historically low travel season because of the increasing number of flights from Europe and the United States. Adding to the increase is the increasing number of U.S. college students who are choosing Costa Rica as their Spring Break destination.

Given Costa Rica’s history for protection of its natural resources and the increasing global demand for exotic eco-destinations, the trend should continue for the foreseeable future.
