The South Pacific coast of Costa Rica
is the most beautiful part of the country
due to its rainforests, mangroves, whales,
dolphins and unimaginable beauty.

In fact, National Geographic called
Corcavado National Park (in the South
Pacific region) the most “biologically intense place on the planet”. This area has just recently been “discovered” by vacationers but has been a popular area for eco-tourists for years.

Government investment has helped fuel the growth in the region. For example:

  • The completion of the Costanera Highway connecting Dominical to Palmar Norte (and the Costanera to the Pan-American Highway) in 2001. This is the newest and best highway in Costa Rica is the best highway in the country and has reflectors embedded in it to provide safe night driving.
  • A new international airport is planned only 10 miles from the current regional airport in Palmar Sur
  • A new hospital is currently under construction (click for update) on the Costanera Highway just 7 miles North of Palmar Sur
Travel Tip: The easiest way to get to the region is to fly from San Jose (SJO) on Sansa Airlines or Nature Air from Pavas to Palmar Sur (PMZ) regional airport. Each airline has multiple roundtrip daily flights. Schedule varies based on the time of year. If you are interested in looking at property for sale, our representatives can pick you up at Palmar Sur and show you the area. Additionally, we can help make your travel plans for you.
